“Indian Cork Tree or Jasmine Tree is an evergreen tree native to Southeast Asia.
It can grow to 80+ feet in height and reaches maturity at around 8 years of age. The tree gets its scientific name from Thomas Millington who was an English botanist of the 18th Century and it means “”grown in gardens””.
Its flowers are fragrant, silvery-white in colour and blossom in April to May and again in November to December. The leaves extract possesses antimicrobial properties and is used in traditional medicine.
